Off I Go

July 15, 2009

So today I leave for a month.  I have to take a six hour train ride to Montreal, and then a 2 hour car ride with my grandparents down to my cottage in the Adarondak Mountains of upper New York State. It’s on a lake called Chazy and my go pretty much every year, though my mother never comes as she can’t stand being down there, she can’t drive and being stuck with my grandmother for a week is not a fun prospect for anyone. Luckily for me, I’m the golden grandchild, we get on quite well so it isn’t so bad. But as I seem to have not talked about my grandmother before, I’ll just say that she is a very interesting piece of work, I could go on a rant just about her, but I’ll leave that for later. my grandfather on the other hand reads a lot and is generally quiet. :P On Friday my aunt and uncle come down with my two cousins, ages 2 and 5 who as you can imagine are both very active and fun to be around, so that will hopefully lighten the atmosphere, and then I go on Monday back to Montreal. The next morning I take the 8:00 camp bus 3 hours up in to the Lorentian Mountains so Petite Lac Nominingue where my camp is. It’s a three weeks long all boys camp, that I’ve been going to, for two years now, and is very fun, excluding the excrusiating, swim test that is on the first day which I passed (just) on the first year and failed on the second and had to continue to do it every day until I passed it. 250 M in freezing cold, very deep wavy water and then when your muscles feel like they are going to fall off, 5 minutes of treading water. It aboslutely awful, but the rest of the time is great. Anyway, I’ll be back on the 14th, but nothing until then, as I won’t have access to a computer.

See ya!

Beggar to Richman

July 5, 2009

So after last post, I went over to a friend’s house, where I’ve been helping them to do the demolition part of renovating their kitchen and my friend’s father gave me $100!!!! :D It was really out of the blue, as I had been doing it completely voluntarily, but it definitely helped with buying everything I want to get.

I went to a party for a friend’s baby today and got very queasy from eating too many custard tarts, but overall it was fun, I caught up with some kids I haven’t seen in a few years because they’ve moved away which was good.

Very much looking forward to Torchwood tomorrow, I’ll be roaming You Tube all afternoon from 4:00 my time onward waiting for someone to get Day One up. and then hopefully the Soundtrack will come out the next day, I’m crossing my fingers that it is put up in the morning so I can stay up and get it before I nod off thanks to the 5 hour time difference! :P

Also, the Doctor Who Forum is going to go in to archive mode today, as of 12:00 tonight (Shaun’s time, I’m guessing) the ability to post is removed. Still there for another month though. I’ve got to make my last post soon.

Other then that, I made another blog (yes I know, another one) over at http://www.noblerocks.wordpress.com for all my art and manips and stuff so feel free to check that out, it has all my stuff from since I started to now except for the avatars and pieces that I never finished and then deleted. I’ve yet to come up with a banner for there, sadly as well as a favicon, but those both should be up shortly.

Ok and we’re back! I’ve been sleeping to much to actually post, yes I know lousy excuse, but summer holidays have never felt so gooooood! :D

So Exams and tests have finished and the report card it back a few days ago. Besides the 54 in French  , I don’t know how I went from 75 50 54, really no f**king idea, but there you go. No more Geography ever again, next year is already looking up! :p

Since I got out, I have been sleeping (as mentioned before), reading through The Bartimaeus Trilogy which I love besides the last few scenes! I know I’m such a sap, but I want Kitty and Nat to end up together or something, it’s so sudden. :(

I’ve also been on Gallifrey Base an awful lot. It went up a couple of weeks ago and it’s going great, everything and more from DWF is there, it’s all very exciting.

I’m also spending some time down at a friend of my mom’s house where they are renevating their kitchen completely, and making it bigger. So I’ve been stripping one room down to the bare boards and taking all the cabnets off the walls with her husband. It’s quite fun!

The only sad thing is the fact that I don’t have any money what so ever! :p I know it’s sad, and there is so many things that I want to buy, or things coming out that I want to buy and I can’t. I was even offered a great job for 9 days only to have the person pull.

Anyway, I’ve been listening through the new Torchwood, full cast audios which can be downloaded for 7 days from their broadcast http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/features/torchwood/download/. Sadly the first one has stopped working outside the UK, which sucks for those who have not got it.

Another big reason why I want money is that the new S3 Torchwood soundtrack is coming out on the 7th and it’s looking very good. Children of Earth starts on the 6th and 9:00, BBC One, so looking forward to seeing that on youtube.

I go off to my cottage for a week on the 15th, which is down in New York State mountains and then up to the Quebec mountains for 3 weeks for an all boys camp that I’ve been going to for 2 years.

Hopefully I’ll update this once more before I leave
